If you're on the hunt for Western or speciality food in Thailand, there are a few routes to try — both online and in-person.
You’ll find physical supermarkets like Tops, Tesco Lotus, BigC and Villa Market in many parts of the country. Just be aware that Lotus (Tesco) tends to have a very limited selection of Western products outside the bigger cities.
Tops has a better selection of Western products (in my opinion), while Villa Market stands out for its wide range of international and hard-to-find items.
All three have online shops, but if you're living more remotely or looking for specific products, you’ll often have better luck on platforms like Shopee (my top pick), TikTok Shop, and Lazada. These platforms represent countless independent sellers and small shops, so you're more likely to find that one rare item you've been craving.
Still, Villa Market deserves a special mention — they stock many unique and rare food items you won’t easily find elsewhere. As of 2025, they have 34 branches across Thailand (27 in Bangkok and suburbs, 7 in places like Hua Hin, Pattaya, Udon Thani, and Phuket). They also offer nationwide delivery, although prices can get a bit steep.
